One of my best friends has a golden birthday coming up soon! She will be 25 on the 25th. Another dear friend of hers, Hilary, and I will be planning the party! I seriously can’t wait. Hilary came up with a great idea to have the whole party a gold theme. Here are a few inspirational photos to get us started. I hope everyone is having a great Monday. I have only 1 week left of school! Yay!

The weather has been unbelievable lately but today, it dropped a few degrees. I dragged my favorite jeans out of the drawer I had tucked them into (when I thought I wouldn’t need them for a few months) and paired them with a relaxed button up. I can only wear these jeans with at least 4 inch heels which makes them perfect for my grey suede wedges. The high waist makes me feel dainty, dressed up and fun all at the same time.

I fell in love with these yellow ballet flats the second I walked into J. Crew. My eyes spotted them and I literally could not get to them fast enough. I already knew I wanted to wear them with my lace skirt to dress it down a bit. The best part about them? They are the jelly material that I used to wear as sandals when I was probably seven years old.

Not so secret garden.

Last week was a very busy week. I spent it catching up on homework while working, plus I was trying to prepare for Zachary’s birthday which was on Saturday. We did manage to squeeze in planting our garden — which I am so excited to see grow. We planted four different tomato plants (cherry, heirloom, patio, and Abraham Lincoln <–how fun is that name?), bell peppers, basil, cilantro, along with a few flowers and more herbs. I can’t wait to make salsa and tomato sauce with fresh vegetables!
